I testify that our Heavenly Father loves all his children equally. With Him, there is no respect of persons."

This is a coal pot I found on internet, probably similar to what Elder Doggett cooked on.  They use charcoal.

Dear Family and Friends,
Last Monday, we made tacos for one of the families in our branch! They bought all the stuff and we came and played master chefs. It was really fun. I've never made tacos before, but we did very well; everyone enjoyed them. We started from scratch, making the tortillas and we had to cook them on a coal pot. Never used a coal pot before, either. It was an experience.
This Wednesday was also our branch mission leader's birthday. He's a sweet guy and he works super hard, so we decided to get him something nice. So we bought some FanIce and cookies, surprised him at his house, and showed him how to make some sweet milkshakes. He was very surprised. He enjoyed himself thoroughly, as did we, because it was super hot that day.
As we were teaching a lesson this week, discussing 3 Nephi 11, our investigator asked about the 'other sheep'. We looked at John 10:16 and the corresponding scripture in 3 Nephi 15: "Ye are they of whom I said: other sheep I have, which are not of this fold. Them also I must bring, and there shall be one fold and one shepherd." We explained that these people Jesus mentioned were the Nephites in the Book of Mormon. She then she asked, "So, Jesus went to visit America, huh? Why didn't He visit Africa?" We then went to 3 Nephi 16:1, where Christ tells the Nephites that he even has OTHER sheep that he needs to visit. We told her it was very possible that he may have visited Africa, or China, or Russia. It was right about then when it really hit me how much God loves his children. Why would He send his son to Jerusalem only? Why would He send his son to the Americas only? Would he really send him to Jerusalem and America only? In 2 Nephi 29 the Lord says something along the lines of, "Know ye not that I am the God of all nations?" I testify that our Heavenly Father loves all his children equally. With Him, there is no respect of persons.
On a different note, this Saturday we stopped by a member's home just to say hello. He asked us to 'dedicate my new car'.  We said sure. He is the kind of guy that you just have to go with his flow, and don't question it. He bought a taxi some months ago, it passed through some hands that didn't take care of it. So it's been in the shop and he's lost a lot of money on it. He started the prayer this way: "Our Heavenly Father, by the authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood which we hold, we commit this vehicle into thy care..." I opened one eye to look at Elder Hansen, who had slapped his hand silently to his forehead and was shaking his head. Hahaha. Our member continued, "...please bless the driver that his eyes and faculties may be sharper... bless the owner that he may be able to pay a full tithing... please bless the driver that he may be more than willing to return items that are left in the car (it's a taxi, remember)... protect this vehicle from theft, burglary, fire, accidents, and most of all--- evil spirits... please help to restore the money that has been put into this car..." But. The BEST line was his closing, as follows, "...and may it be soaked in the blood of JESUS! Amen." Oh my goodness, we about died holding in our laughter. I said to myself, "Yes. You are definitely a convert." Haha he was converted about 7 years ago. All the older members in the church here are converts and have their own little quirks. They all have colorful personalities. I know God appreciates and loves them, though.
About the taxi fare, we cannot give [C.] money. We actually asked for President's advice last night on what to do. He doesn't know. But in this country, handing out cash, especially as a white guy, gives the wrong impression, and can instill ulterior motives into people. It's something we really have to avoid. We might just have to wheel C. down the street to church!

Taco time!
